Syria Air Strikes

The US, UK and France launched coordinated air strikes late this week in Syria, targetting the Syrian regime’s chemical weapons program. Both Donald Trump and Prime Minister Theresa May said this was a necessary step and a decision that should not have been challenged.

French SNCF and Air France Strikes

France has been embroiled in a series of strikes from major transportation companies such as SNCF and Air France. The reason why the country’s railway workers are striking is because of the proposed reforms to the SNCF, which could affect a lot of the perks of the employees such as annual pay rises,  28 paid holidays and free tickets for family members. The SNCF workers are currently looking at a 36 days long strike.

Pilots, cabin crew and ground staff at Air France however, are striking and demanding a 6% pay rise given that their wages have been frozen since 2011. As a result of this, 30% of the Air France flights are on standby and many more will get cancelled in the upcoming weeks.
