Don’t you just love it when the sun is shinning in London? Not to mention the abundance of choices for new hip openings around the capital that are turning our heads due to their niche cocktails and unique locations… But in order for you to have the best Summer ever we aren’t only dedicated to make your wardrobe close to perfection, we are also very invested in you having the best weekends ever! So here are 4 hip new places around London where you’ll want to wine, dine and maybe even do a little boogie…
Are you heading to Fitzrovia for brunch this weekend? Then why not head to Hanway Street afterwards to enjoy an evening of spooky cocktails served with a side of heinous crime… Taking its inspiration from the “gangster noir of the 1940s and 50s” this new bar is the latest venture from the team behind The Cocktail Trading Company. This spot is everything you’ve been looking for if you’re in the mood for something a bit different, with a mixed ambiance of industrial NYC and a bit of glamour. My favourite thing about this bar? The quirky crime-themed drinks such as Death in the afternoon . Intrigued yet? This bar hasn’t even opened a week yet, so make sure you head there before it gets all booked up!
Who else loves good food? Silly question right? We’re so excited to introduce restaurateurs Chris Corbin and Jeremy King’s newest baby: Soutine, a breezy spot taking inspiration from typical Parisian bistrots, located in the heart of Soho. The duo are known for their skill at opening new hip places around London, but Soutine delivers a classic, and yet accessible luxurious restaurants, with star quality dishes such as caramel eclairs, veal schnitzels and much more… Also, if you haven’t been to Soutine’s sister restaurant Brasserie Zedel, then make sure you make it a priority next time you have a friend to visit!
Anyone here a massive fan of fancy G&Ts and espresso martinis? This new four-floor palace is exactly what Notting Hill needed this Summer, with its tasteful decorations, green garden in the back and friendly staff. Not to mention the mouth watering menu filled with wood-roasted seafood and fresh Burrata salads… It didn’t come as a surprise when I found out this bar was owned by no other than the Soho House group, but my experience there was simply perfect. My personal recommendation is to head there for a light one-to-one lunch in the garden with a friend or even on a date, or after dinner for a fiery cocktail with a larger group.
Thought you had enough choice of Indian food between Dishoom and Gunpowder (both of which we recommend by the way)? Think again as we introduce you to Lucknow 49 – the city’s only specialist in Mughal Empire (Persian and Turkish) cuisine. The starters include tenderised lamb steaks, charred lamp chops, and deliciously soft kawab… You can also have curries however, as well as vegetable dishes and bread cooked in the tandoor. The atmosphere is surprisingly relaxed regardless of being in Mayfair, and we would recommend the house wine for an affordable night out!
