The transition into fall was relatively smooth, if you ask us! We enjoyed some mildly good weather over in London and then headed across the pond to NYC for a short trip to get us really acquainted with the new season, and mot importantly all the trends we’ll be documenting in the next week.
But enough about the weather and fashion, this October we celebrate Libras and Scorpios – two of our favorite zodiac signs here at The Weekly Cut. The former is known for love, romantic getaways (great for weekend trips and apple picking!) and keeping a tidy home, whereas the latter is universally known for a strong temperament, fiery moods and all that comes with it. This month we’ll be hearing a lot about the Sun, with a full moon on the 13th, a new moon on the 27th, and finally Mercury going back retrograde on the 31st, just in time to spook us for Halloween.
But before we divulge any more predictions, keep scrolling to find out what October has in store for you, the surprises you might encounter, and more!
September 23rd – October 22nd
Hello hello, dear Libras! No need to help you get into the mood for fall since you’ve been celebrating your birthday since the last week of September. Getting celebrated is good fun, but what does your home look like since transitioning into the new season? Feel like it might be time for a closet clean? Get that ready in time for the full moon on the 13th which is bound to get you out of your comfort zone and experience something new. With the year slowly coming to an end, think ahead and make plans for the future – maybe that involves a raise, a promotion, or setting aside a stash for rainy weather.
October 23rd – November 21st
Ah Scorpios, with all that fiery energy in you, we know it can’t be difficult keeping yourself aback before your birthday month takes off. Be patient, and let things run their course; we want you to make a plan, or at least mentally project yourself into the future and set some goals. Right after your birthday kicks off, you’ll be feeling energetic thanks to all the planets, and encouraged to lead your way. Watch out for the new moon at the end of October for that last spurt of energy!
November 22nd – December 21st
If fashion month didn’t make you daydream of all the fabulous clothes you wish you owned, we don’t want you to feel despair just yet. Just because everything doesn’t always goes as planned, that doesn’t mean you should reach out and ask for help. After all, that’s what your friends and family are for. Let yourself go for a second, and use the creativity you got in you to prepare for the full moon on the 13th. Hobby, a change in career or just a weekend away might get you refuelled for good, because the end of the month is looking busy between Mercury going retrograde, a new moon on the 27th and more!
December 22nd – January 19th
It turns out that if you set your mind to something and come up with new ideas, the results can be pretty fruitful. Whether it’s a project you just started or a new side hustle, you’re starting to see the effects and there’s no stopping you. The full moon on the 13th will get your mind spinning – are you taking on too much? Are you feeling balanced and happy? Reconnect with yourself if there’s an area where you feel there might be something missing.
January 20th – February 18th
While you’re one to enjoy an adventure or take on a new challenge, you’re more often than not worried about how it may look from the outside, or peoples’ opinion about it. Try to forget about that and simply live in the moment – you’ll be surprised how refreshing it feels. Moon-wise, you’re getting some news on the full moon and the new moon is keeping you busy in regards to your career. Change can be good, don’t forget that, and Mercury going retrograde will remind you not to panic at first!
February 19th – March 20th
Maybe you’re feeling a bit of brain fog because you’ve been on the road during fashion month, or perhaps it’s something else that’s taking up a lot of your time. During this month, set aside time for you to come down – get rid of the things that keep you in the past and hit ‘refresh’. And if that is easier said than done, wait for the full moon on the 13th to give you that extra push you might need. The end of the month will also offer a fresh perspective on where you picture yourself in the next months.
March 21st – April 19th
Take the time this October to reconnect with the people in your life you haven’t seen in a while – whether it’s a coffee, a dinner or a weekend away, it’s both fun and healthy to take the time to listen to one another and bounce off ideas of each other. On the other hand, when situations get prickly and tense, we want you to remember that it’s always better to keep your cool rather than to get overly emotional. You’ll be surprised how far compromise and thorough listening will get you.
April 20th – May 20th
Ready for fall to take over after a few last warm weather days? Before you step into the season with new habits to start, test the waters before fully subscribing to a year-long commitment. What you like today might not bring you so much joy next month. Although you’re pretty sure about your likes and dislikes, step outside your comfort zone this October and let someone else lead the way. You’ll see this coming to life during the full moon on the 13th, and a new wave of romantic feelings is bound to happen towards the end of the month. Stay tuned!
May 21st – June 20th
As with the start of every new season, there’s a bevy of activities on your agenda. But can you fit it all into your schedule, and is it really all necessary? You might think yes, but your bank account may not. We suggest saving up for those occasions you really enjoy, let’s say Halloween and set aside both time and money. Between all your plans, the new moon, full moon, and Mercury going retrograde, watch out you don’t start to feel overwhelmed and get ready to tackle obstacles before they create real issues.
June 21st – July 22nd
Thinking about the last quarter of the year, what are the places that bring you the most joy dear Cancer? Where do you feel like you do your best work? Perhaps it’s time to start considering to work from home; a bunch of companies are now offering these perks and maybe that’s something you want to look into around the full moon. As soon as Scorpio season comes around, your creative side will start to shine – Mercury going retrograde on the 31st will enhance the process even more.
July 23rd – August 22nd
It’s been a busy few weeks, and there’s no sign of slowing down just yet. You’ve got your hands full with packed agendas and events going on left and right. Though this is an exciting time for you, don’t forget to at least try to balance it all out – the end of the month brings you the perfect opportunity to invest in some self-care and mindfulness. You might even get inspired as to what to change, thanks to the new moon on the 28th, but don’t forget to spend time with your closest during this season.
August 23rd – September 22nd
Lastly, as we focus on you Virgo, it’s all about money saving and budgeting this month. It seems that you’ve been doing a pretty good job keeping track of your expenses, but we still want you to enjoy your life, so try to let go from time to time. When the Sun gets into Scorpio, you’ll feel compelled to document your daily life – you’ll also celebrate the new moon on the 27th, and as your approach the 31st you’ll dedicate yourself to sharing your thought and wishes on a more constant basis.
