The Blazer Of The Season Styled 5 Ways

Sure there are enough trends that follow every fashion week, to give you a handful of options on which one you should splurge (or should I say ‘invest in’), in order to look trendy each season. The good thing is that there are editors, street style stars, bloggers and trendsetters that do the picking for you (that is to find the one item everyone will be wearing), so lean back, grab your glass of wine or cup of tea, and take a look at how we’d wear one of this season’s most coveted pieces.

This time’s different though, as it happens one of these so-called trends can be found in the comfort of your own and/or childhood home, or just by rummaging through a nearby thrift or vintage store. Look no further, the plaid blazer was spotted all over fashion weeks, has been celebrity-approved and should be hanging inside your closet as we speak.

Most importantly, the other good thing about this trend is that it’s not too fashion-y which in TWC language translates into: any woman can wear it. No need to be working in the fashion industry, be a blogger or a gigantic budget. And that’s why we’re 100% fully on-board with it, it’s an all-women kind of blazer!

When it comes to fall wardrobe, we look for comfort. Especially when it comes to outerwear, think practical! A plaid blazer in the case of practicality pretty much scores high up, in terms of versatility, color, oversized look (to fit jumpers beneath), and instant dressed-up elegance.

Overly worn and spotted, we’re not waving bye to the trend just yet. Because for one, it’s a classic and doesn’t go out of style, and two, we found different ways to style it than with just a regular pair of skinny jeans and ankle boots.

1. Wear it with a hoodie and sneakers for a casual look

2. Style it with this season’s hottest color: red

3. Get a matching pair of pants while you’re at it, and that’s it, you’re suited up!

4. Casually draped over your shoulders with a lace/silk chemise top for date night

5. Jeans and a t-shirt with a pair of slingbacks or white ankle booties

Whichever you pick, it’s all about finding the right fit for you – are you more of a long, over the tushy gal or prefer a slim-fit that hugs your waist?

If you’re one of the lucky ones and are still in possession of a plaid, checked or houndstooth blazer then by all means show and share! But if you haven’t yet succumbed to the trend, scroll through and shop our selection of blazers below:
