Have you all been following fashion week? If you have, you’ll have also noticed the overflow of fresh jewellery trends of all sorts we’re loving. From sparkles, to colours and downright statement-making-showstoppers, we’ve decided that these trends rightfully needed more attention from the TWC, so here are the top 3 we’ve literally fallen in love with.
We’re sure everyone here will find something they’ll be able to wear for a romantic date, or a simple stroll around the chilly London streets. There was a very interesting phenomenon this year during fashion week with the rise of the punk wave, intertwined with the feminine touch of pearls and statement earrings.
Pearls, pearls, pearls!
You probably have already guessed this one from the title, but pearls are having a major comeback this season. Whether you wear them on your head, around your neck or hang them from your ears, this updated and polished trend is everything we’ve been looking for to bring a vintage yet sophisticated touch to our modern styles.
The beauty of pearls is that you can dress them up in the shape of discrete earrings paired with your favourite little black dress for your work Christmas drinks, as well as dress them down with a headband and a relaxed pair of jeans and a knitted sweater. Oh, I forgot to mention this, but headbands are definitely considered a jewellery this season, have you not seen all the gorgeous ones in our favourite stores such as Zara and Mango?
Anarchy on the runway!
There were all sorts of grungy and androgynous silhouettes on the runways this year and the boxy designs are without a doubt winking back to the fun eras of the 1970s. It’s a known thing that jewellery was one of the key movements of the era, and this Fall season is all about the key statement piece.
Designers such as Alexander McQueen clearly embraced their rebellious side so take your pick between everything crosses, chains and expect a lot of silver! These pieces are best worn with black and oversized ripped jeans, but how about crossing boundaries and pairing them with a sharp pant suit at your friend’s 30th?
Somewhere over the rainbow
And finally, probably the most explosive trend of them all, is this abundance of colour! The great aspect about this trend is that it leaves us with a huge amount of choices. From throwback pieces like Jacquemus‘ hoops from the 90s, or Stella McCartney’s bourgeois tassel earrings, we’re spoiled for choice.
What do we love most about this trend? The endless styling possibilities. Whether you take advantage of the colder seasons to wear darker colours, or on the opposite side like to cheer yourself up with some fun colours, a gorgeous pair of colourful earrings will always finish off your outfit just the way you like it.
