But wait for it, this wow moment you’re feeling right now is not over, as she’s able to not only keep up with her own trends, but also her daughter’s! The three of them invade our Instagram feed with the most adorable matching outfits, so what better time than post- Mother’s Day to sit down and chat with Elizabeth about her ability to stay on top of things as well as being an amazing mom.

AG: Welcome to TWC Elizabeth! We’re so excited to get the chance to have a quick chat with you today all the way from the big apple.
So starting with the basics, can you tell us a bit more about how you got into fashion blogging and how your expertise and passion of accessorising came along?

ES: I’m so excited to be partnering with such an awesome company! Thank you for having me!
I started my blog about 3 years ago, but just took it full time in the past 9 months. For as long as I can remember, my favorite part of the day has been getting dressed in the morning. Putting together an outfit is my art-form of choice–it’s such a rush for me. I have always been passionate about accessories and how they can completely transform an outfit. I think they are far underrated in the fashion world. I was working at a fashion PR company for years, and my colleagues were always amused by my eccentric ensembles that would incorporate say, a gold turban, or an over-sized vintage Chanel belt. They encouraged me to start a blog. I have a background in writing, so the journalistic element of starting a blog was incredibly appealing and a therapeutic creative outlet. I just love inspiring women and helping them feel confident!

AG: You’re known to love over-the-top pieces and introducing them into an everyday lifestyle, which can be such a daunting thought for most of us, especially when you want to wear that piece again. What are your go-to essentials to wear with fancy and statement piece in order to incorporate it better into your everyday style?

ES: I’m drawn to contrasting looks. There is something so cool about wearing a statement stiletto with jeans and a t-shirt or a sequin dress with cool sneakers. I always incorporate an element of causal in my over-the-top looks or an element of glamour in my everyday basic style. It really comes down to thinking outside the box and pushing the envelope with styling. When in doubt, you can never go wrong by teaming a jeans with oversized jewels. But, with the return of maximalism to the fashion scene, you need not be basic to look chic. My motto is more is more! Fashion should be fun!

AG: There’s no doubt about your ability to mix and match accessorises, but we’d love to know where you get most of your inspiration from?

ES: I’m very much inspired by eras past. I look to my fab five: Twiggy, Edie Sedgwick, Marisa Berenson, Stevie Nicks, and Bianca Jagger. I love the 60’s pop-art era, filled with colorful, statement jewelry and mini shift dresses. The bohemian and rock ‘n roll fashions of the 70’s are also extremely impactful in my styling choices. I adore a floppy hat, whimsical maxi dress, and layers of necklaces. But, if I had to choose one era that inspires me most, it would be disco. The glamour is unmatched. I never met a sequin I didn’t love.

AG: We love the way your dress your daughters from head to toe, they must love playing dress up with you and what a precious time to spend with them. Tell us, how do you manage your time between writing, blogging and being a mom?

ES: We LOVE to play dress up together! I even had an adult-sized tutu made!

It is absolutely challenging to wear so many hats, but there is nothing I am willing to give up, and I love to stay busy! I always say there is no such thing as balance. I just try to take life one hour at a time. I am fortunate that my career allows me to incorporate my children into the mix, because basically I am just sharing my life with my amazing audience, so there is very little boundary between professional and personal.

AG: What are your go-to stores to shop for your girls in NYC, and do you tend to go shopping with them? If so, are there any child friendly places to shop for our other mommy shoppers out there?

ES: It is sad to say, but there are just not enough hours in the day to go shopping in stores right now. I do 99% of my shopping online. That way we have more free time to play princess tea party! My favorite brands for the girls are Halabaloo for dresses, Zara for casual, and Joy Folie for shoes.

AG: And finally, how do make time for yourself between running a successful blog and motherhood? What does your ‘me time’ consist of?

ES: I wake up very early for a peaceful moment. I also try to get to the gym at least three times a week to clear my mind. But. my absolute favorite activity is pushing the girls in the double stroller along the east river path and singing our favorite songs at the top of our lungs. You can find us there most sunny weekends.
