Anyone who’s ever tried to step out of their comfort zone when it comes to fashion knows it can be a tricky process. The options are often limited – it’s either going full cold turkey or via baby steps by slowly introducing new tones and styles to your wardrobe. While neutral colours are in popular demand for essentials, as well as seasonal classics, we found the one pattern that technically falls into that category, even though it’s considered a print.
We’ve noticed an increase in popularity by the animal print of leopard – and we have no doubt as to why. The colours, essentially made off of a dark beige and black are by themselves already pretty simple colours that are easy to mix and match with brighter tones. So the fact that the pattern is spotted shouldn’t fear you off to completely avoid the print altogether.
Between current street style favorites and an overwhelming popularity in Instagram ‘saves’, the knee-length leopard-print skirt by Realisation Par that has been deemed one of this season’s most ‘saved’ looks – it’s safe to say that there are easy and simple ways to add *only* a touch of print to your usual all-black/all-white (winter/summer if you know the drill) or no-fail looks. Wear yours with a less fun bottom or top – try it with a tailored pair of black pants or a white pencil skirt – the options are endless!
But don’t worry, there’s plenty more where that came from, especially if you want to start small. Start by adding a leopard print headband to a classic white t-shirt and jeans look, or opt for a swimsuit with a more toned down cover up. Furthermore, and for the beginners we encourage you to swap out your go-to neutral toned bag for a leopard print clutch on your next night out, or invest in a pair of classic pumps in leopard print – perfect for any upcoming Fall look.
Now that we’ve established that leopard print is positioned right up there with the remaining neutrals, we found a few ways to incorporate it into our summer looks. Scroll down and swipe through to find out how we styled 5 outfits, ranging from office appropriate to brunch with your in-laws. And don’t forget, a little print will always add a little bit of pep to your step!
With that in mind, we recreated 5 of our favorite leopard-incorporated looks and highly encourage you to copy that and tag us along on social media via #TWCLooks
