As a true proponent of long-lasting trends that stand the test of time, because those tend to be rare to find, you can imagine our delight upon scouting this summer’s styles, in particular its colour palette. From bright and bold tones like magenta and emerald green, to more subdued hues such as yellow, brown and the ever-lasting white. On that last note, it comes to no surprise that we’ve all been drooling over Jacquemus‘ spring/summer 2018 collection, appropriately titled La Bomba, which featured the most sultry, effortless and flattering cuts and styles we’ve seen in a long time.

While many designers tend to commit themselves to creating oversized styles with ruffles, stripes and one size fits all, the above mentioned French designer prides himself on creating feminine silhouettes that seemingly wrap around a woman’s body, generating an almost retro chic feel to any composed look. Take for instance the sarong; a quasi extinct essential piece of summer wardrobe which the brand brought back in its best look, adorned with fringes in some cases, and elegantly wrapped in others. In addition to this must-have, we’ve lusted over their chocolate brown and yellow mustard strappy dresses, as well as their perfectly tailored high-waisted trousers, ending with their gigantic straw hat which puts Samantha Jones to shame.

But what really stood out to us apart from the various styles and cuts are the colour patterns. Neutral, yet daring, which we were extremely pleased to witness in other designer collections on an international scale. Zara did a good job recreating almost identical pieces, but what truly stood out to us was H&M’s new arrivals section which made an appearance in our tabs just last week. Elegantly knotted dresses in deep brown, yellow and white. Followed by the exceptionally well tailored high-waisted paper bag shorts which we purchased in both brown and white, closely succeeded by Eres-inspired one shoulder swimsuits in a khaki green and simple but detailed white t-shirts adorned with smart quotes.

To say we lost our hearts over this slew of new pieces is an understatement – we placed not one but two orders of our top picks, and took a mid-morning office break to head into the closest store to score that much coveted draped wrap dress (similar here). You might have heard enough about the colour combination by now, so we’ve made it our duty to share our finds here below. From lust-worthy simple tops to instant like-bait asymmetric slip dresses, these yellow, brown and white pieces are guaranteed to last all summer long, and beyond!
